Our youth groups are currently comprised of young people from Primary School through High School age. They have three main foci - Faith, Service, and Community.
Our youth groups meet on the last Monday of each month. The youth learn leadership skills, serve the needs of both the parish and the greater community by engaging in charitable and service activities, and develop life-long friendships. The youth participate in the various annual festivals, such as Christmas, Pascha, and other important feasts, giving them the opportunity to learn firsthand about the meaning of these events.
Our most recent activities included a food drive for the needy before Thanksgiving; a stuffed toy drive for the Durham Regional Police services before Christmas; regular participation in our monthly parish "Youth Sundays"; Christmas Caroling for our elderly, home-bound and those in nursing homes; and trips to sister Orthodox parishes in the GTA.
Young people today need guidance and support, a place to grow, and activities that
can help shape both the community and the individual. Our parish is proud of the efforts and attitude of our young members, and will continue to make this program available for many years to come. Many of our current parish leaders were members of the parish youth groups in their early years. Our youth will always be an important priority for our parish.
